Many years ago, I went to the mall to buy an umbrella.
A pink umbrella patterned with a dozen black cats caught my eye.
Naturally, I bought it.
A couple of years later, a special girl asked me to adopt a black cat. I said yes.
I’d always been the ‘Tita’ — even to my niece’s and brother’s cats — never the mom.
It was a hard adjustment, but worth it.
Moon is the sweetest: my child in cat form.
You’re my future heartbreak, but right now I’ll love you with all my heart.
Scratches, love bites, and all.
